Synopsis: Francis, the dreamy film projectionist, accidentally crashes into the limousine of gangster boss Mascarpone. Suddenly he finds himself in a mobster film. Francis’ dog Farfalle is taken hostage by Mascarpone’s gang, and Francis is being forced to stand guard at their next bank robbery. When the coup fails, he has to rescue his dog and conquer the heart of the film diva Vivien.
Jonas Riemer was born in 1990 near Berlin and studied Animation at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. In his youth, he and his friends experimented a lot by shooting film exercises and also completed a 90-minute format. In his innovative work, Jonas Riemer plays with the limits of the possible, combining elements of the live-action, animation, and visual effects film. In 2011 he worked as a production assistant and lead animator on the internationally successful feature film THIS AIN’T CALIFORNIA. MASCARPONE is his first short film as a director, author, and VFX supervisor – a no-budget blockbuster created by over 100 contributors is the result.
