Best friends, Joe (gambler) and Teo (drinker), set out to get rich quick and escape the desperation that they are so accustomed to. Teo’s dad, Bobby, puts them in touch with ex-colleagues from his violent past as an enforcer.

A debt is accrued and Joe is convinced betting horses will set him free. His dad, Ron, agrees – and Bobby tries to keep Joe from making things worse. At the center of $$$, is the time capsule that is Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens – shot on location with real characters placed in a fictional narrative.

The gambling in the film is real. It is a picture of a cage. An investigation of free-will and generational trauma. A love letter to NYC.
