In the upper midwest of America lies a forgotten state that has been a fruitful factory of hoopers for decades. Traditionally known as a Hockey state, it is becoming clear that Minnesota is just as much a BASKETBALL STATE. This documentary dives into the history and rise of basketball in Minnesota told through the perspective of various players and a director who all have unique love stories with the game.
Gabe Hostetler, a Minnesota native, is a filmmaker known for his deep passion for storytelling. While basketball was his first love, a camera placed in his hands by his father in 3rd grade revealed his true calling: filmmaking. Starting with homemade hoop mixtapes and backyard movies, Gabe’s talent blossomed in high school where he began creating music videos and documentaries for local artists and brands.
After graduating in 2017, Gabe moved to Los Angeles to pursue his film dreams. There he began directing and editing a diverse array of projects, working with names in music like Gunna, Rick Ross, and Metro Boomin, and brands like Apple, Adidas, and Red Bull.
