Synopsis:After a youth is tortured by the police, a riot explodes on the streets of Paris. Vinz, Said and Hubert find a gun lost by the police in the riots and threaten to kill a cop if their friend dies.

La Haine (French pronunciation: ​[la ɛn], lit. “Hate”) is a 1995 French independent black-and-white drama film written, co-edited, and directed by Mathieu Kassovitz. It ranks as one of the most acclaimed and celebrated films in European history. It is commonly released under its French title “La Haine“, although its U.S. VHS release was titled Hate, and remains as politically relevant in 2021 as it was in 1995.
